Defeat in Kelly Cup

Westport lost to Parke in the Kelly Cup on sunday last on a scoreline of Westport 0-04 Parke 2-07.  Playing with a strong breeze in the 1st half Westport were 4 points to 1 up at half time with the scores comming from Rory Connolly 0-03 and Martin Gill 0-01.  But in truth it was never going to be enough of a lead with the wind. In the 2nd half Parke gragually pulled away winning the 2nd half 2-06 to no score.  Next up for Westport is Tourmakeady next Sunday 27th at 12-00 in Westport, with Westport needing a win to stay in with a chance of going through to the final of the Kelly Cup.
