Hurling Notes 7th October

13th October 2011 - 11:01

U16 Hurling Championship
Westport were away to Ballyvary Tuesday evening in the 5th round of the championship. Westport took a strong grip of the game against a weaker Ballyvary side and were 3 goals and 5 points to no score at half time. They had the aid of a strong breeze but were incomplete control of the game. In the second half Ballyvary rallied well with some aid from the breeze and pegged back 3 goals and 5 points. Westport were struggling to put up scores but did enough to see off the second half challenge to end the game 4-7 to 3-5. Best on show for Westport were Michael Grady, Sean Brogan in the forward line and all of the back lines performed well.
Next Game Vs Cashel Gaels in Charlestown Wed 12th 5.45pm. A win there will guarantee a place in the Final.
