Westport 2 -25 Aghamore 2 – 11

The quality of football played by both teams was well received by the large audience which included a group of spanish students in Westport for the first time. The first half produced two goals and twenty one points with Westport ahead by three points on a score of Westport 1gl 12 pts to Aghamore 1gl 9pts.Pat Joyce scored Westport first goal.Aghamore dominated the early stages of the game but Westport got into their stride in this exciting free flowing game.A goal from Alan kennedy and five points early in the second half without reply pushed Westport eleven poins ahead.Aghamore got their second goal on the ninth minute to narrow the gap. Westport again broke the twenty point barrier scoring twenty five times. To score 2gls 25pts in an evenly contested game is great to see but when all of the scores come from play it is very satisfying.Well done to both teams who played the game with great passion and gave the supporters great entertainment.The final score Westport 2 – 25 Aghamore 2 – 11.
