Mayo GAA Hurling Presentation Night and Awards Ceremony 2014, included were Westport’s Declan Gallagher, Adrian Guiry and Aiden Connolly

The Park Hotel in Kiltimagh was the setting for the recent Mayo GAA Hurling Presentation Night and Awards Ceremony. In total 200 people were present to honour the Mayo Minor Hurling team who claimed the All-Ireland MinorC title in 2014, while the Mayo Senior Hurling Panel were also present to pick up their Connacht GAA Intermediate Hurling Title as well as the Leinster GAA Kehoe Shield garnered earlier in the evening.

Guest of honour on the night was Tipperary Hurling legend Michael ‘Babs’ Keating, while other speakers on the night included Paddy McNicholas (Mayo GAA Chairman), John Hopkins (Mayo GAA Hurling Committee Chairman) and An Taoiseach Enda Kenny. MC for the occasion was the voice of sport for Mid West Radio – Angelina Nugent – who kept proceedings moving, while Brian Finn (Mayo GAA Minor Hurling Manager), Christy Phillips (Senior Hurling Manager) and Leo O’Connor (Mayo GAA Senior Hurling Coach) all spoke of the potential within Mayo Hurling in the coming years. The Mayo GAA Senior Hurler of the Year Award went to Adrian Brennan (Ballyhaunis) for his displays at corner back for Mayo throughout the year.

The Mayo GAA Senior Hurling Panel who received their Connacht GAA IHC medals and the Leinster GAA Kehoe Shield medals at the recent Mayo GAA Hurling Dinner Dance in the Parke Hotel in Kiltimagh.
