Club Plan Workshop – Have your Say

Westport GAA would are holding their  Club Plan Workshop on Friday 16th November 8-10pm in Hotel Westport. This workshop is open to all interested parties members, non members, local community groups, members and representatives of other sporting organisations and beyond in short anyone who has an opinion or an idea as to how to improve the running of Westport GAA in the following areas Club Structures and Administration, Coaching and Games Development, Communications/PR & Culture, Facilities and Development, and Finance and Fundraising.
GAA policy is that every GAA club in the country should have a plan in place by 2015 but with the proposed clubhouse redevelopment now seems like an opportune time fow Westport to undertake theirs. In doing so they will be one of the first clubs in Mayo and indeed Connaught to complete the process which will lay out the overall Club Plan for the next five years and beyond. So far their has been great enthusiasm and contribution from members and amongst the local community and the feedback from other clubs is that this is a tremendously worthwhile and beneficial process.
The workshop will be facilitated by representatives of Connaught Council and will provide the framework on which the final club plan is built it is a stand alone event where people can come and have their say and choose to have no further input or they can elect to help develop the ideas as part of focus groups in the areas of Club Structures and Administration, Coaching and Games Development, Communications/PR & Culture, Facilities and Development, and Finance and Fundraising. These groups will meet once a week for 4-6 weeks until the Plan is finalised.
We hope as many people as possible will join us on the night.
