*Kilmaine Football Club host Strictly Come Dancing*
A version of the hit TV show, Strictly Come Dancing, is been hosted by Kilmaine football club. After the success of Claremorris Golf Club’s event a few months back Kilmaine football club have organised this fundraiser to help in the development of Kilmaine Community grounds as well as the establishment of Pieta House West Centre in Tuam, a facility that is badly needed in the area. For those of you that haven’t heard of Pieta House it is a centre for the prevention of suicide and self harm, a tragedy that most of us have experienced or heard of. Pieta House already has bases in Dublin and Limerick, and there is huge support for a centre in Tuam. The target is to raise 150 thousand euro over the next 12 months for the renovation of a building in the HSE Turloughmore campus were “Pieta House West” will be based. Local businessman, John Concannon is a driving force behind the opening of this centre and is very familiar with Pieta House after his appearance on the “Secret Millionare” last year.
The big night is quickly arriving and the dancers are putting in fantastic work, they’ve gotten the feel for the venue with practice taking place in the TF this Wednesday night. Liam Horan, sports journalist and business owner will take charge of the MC. There will be raffles and entertainment along with the dancing so it’s coming together to be a great night!
